Last week Safer Farms hosted a crucial webinar with WorkSafe New Zealand about two draft Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) currently open for public consultation.

The Roles and Responsibilities in Agriculture Draft ACOP clarifies who's responsible when farmers, contractors, and workers are on farm.

Around 50% of the document consists of real-world scenarios addressing questions like:

• Who's liable when contractors work on your property?

• What counts as effective communication?

• What documentation is sufficient?

The Safe Farm Vehicle Operations Draft ACOP covers quad bikes, side-by-sides, young workers, and children as passengers or bystanders.

This is your opportunity to shape guidance affecting your farming operation. You don't need to review the entire documents - focus on sections relevant to you and provide honest, practical feedback.
